
A respected figurehead in the entertainment industry, Joel Dean began his career in the early 70's at ICM sheparding the early careers of Randal Kleiser and a very young Steven Spielberg. It was Dean who convinced producer George Eckstein to hire the virtually unknown Spielberg to helm his first Movie for Television “The Duel” starring Dennis Weaver which has since become a classic of the genre.
While at ICM, Dean also worked with Academy Award-winner Faye Dunaway (“Network”), Olivia Newton-John (“Grease”) and Lee Grant (“Shampoo”). Leaving ICM in 1982, Dean went on to produce such motion pictures and TV MOW's as “Summer Lovers”, “Turn Back the Clock”, “Assault and Matrimony” and “The Cartier Affair”. Dean returned to the agency business in 1995 where he led the talent department at APA.
In 2005 he joined TalentWorks where he handles some icons of the television world. Clients include David Hasselhoff, Mario Lopez, Eli Wallach, George Hamilton, Academy Award Winner Eva Marie Saint, Larry Hagman, Joan Rivers, Donna Mills, Michele lee and Polly Bergen to name just a few.
